Many hosts on Airbnb offer a significant “monthly stay discount” to attract guests who are looking to settle in for a while.

What I discovered is that this discount often kicks in at a very specific threshold: exactly 28 nights. The difference between booking a 27-night stay and a 28-night stay can be staggering.

I was playing around with the dates for a beautiful property we found, and on a whim, I extended our potential stay from 27 nights to 28. The price didn’t go up by the cost of one night; instead, it dropped.

By adding one more night to our booking, we saved enough money to cover roughly the cost of four nights of the stay.
