If you have the Amex Platinum, it's fairly likely you have struggled to use the card's biannual $50 Saks Fifth Avenue credit.

After all, finding something at Saks for under (or even close to) $50 is a chore. But you're leaving money on the table if you don't use it — and you only have one chance left.

Amex has confirmed that this credit will no longer be available to cardholders come July 1, 2026. The benefit was previously structured as up to $50 in statement credits each half of the year — and like many Amex perks, it requires enrollment to activate. With it ending July 1, only the January–June 2026 credit remains for cardholders to use.

If you haven't used the credit yet this year, you still have time to score something for free (or almost free). Here are some strategies that can help you put this final Saks credit to use.

Browse current sale items

Before you focus on specific purchases you can buy for under $50 at Saks, my advice is to head to the retailer’s "sales page" and sort all available purchases using "price low to high." I actually did this for you here.

When you head to the sale page and apply this filter, you'll see plenty of Saks merchandise for under $50 and some items for as little as $15.

Double your travel points without signing up for another credit card

A pair of hands holding two hundred dollar bills

Most folks are happy earning points and miles on everything they buy with their credit card. But did you know there's a way to "double dip" and earn extra points for free? People know Bilt for its credit cards that earn points on rent with no transaction fees. But you don't need a Bilt card to join the Bilt Neighborhood Benefits program. In fact, not only is it free to join, but you can stack the points you earn from it with the rewards from your existing credit card, and take home twice as much!

Kitchenware

While "sale" items at Saks change all the time, you can frequently find dishes, glasses, and serving trays from various brands for under $50. Current options include Villeroy & Boch bowls and mugs, along with party platters and serving trays.

You can even get entire sets of wine goblets, glasses, or champagne flutes for around $50 while supplies last.

Socks and underwear

You can also filter your search to find socks and underwear for both men and women for under $50. Many items from SKIMS (Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand) cost less than $50, including bras, corsets, and underwear.

Bikini separates

Type the word "bikini" in the Saks Fifth Avenue search bar and you'll find all kinds of separates for under $50. Make sure to filter by price to find the best deals.

Makeup and toiletries

You can also score endless makeup and toiletry options for under $50, including luxury items that aren't even on sale. For example, small Jo Malone hand lotions are $30 at Saks all year long, and a bottle of Aesop soap is $50 flat.

If you head to the "Beauty" section of Saks and sort items by price, you'll find everything from makeup sponges to eyebrow pencils for well under $50.

Don't forget about shipping

While Saks frequently offers free shipping on larger purchases (usually $300 or more), you'll need to pay to have your item shipped (usually around $10) if you spend below the current threshold. If you make a $40 charge and include $10 for shipping, however, you can still come in around $50.

Maximize your earnings by going through a portal

Also make sure to log into Rakuten or another shopping portal to earn points or cash back at Saks Fifth Avenue for your purchase. If you haven't signed up for Rakuten yet, you still have time to earn a $50 sign-up bonus when you sign up through a referral link and spend $50 or more through Rakuten in the first 90 days. (This bonus is available through June 30, 2026.)

In any case, if you have the Amex Platinum, don't let this final $50 credit slip past you.
