You might know Bilt for its credit cards that can earn you rewards on rent and mortgage payments. But it’s far more than that: The Bilt program is an entire ecosystem for earning and redeeming rewards at home and around your neighborhood. In fact, you don’t even need a Bilt card to earn Bilt Points.

Once you’re a Bilt Member, the Neighborhood tab in the app is where you’ll find all the goodies. This tab includes recommended restaurants in your area that may offer exclusive benefits, bonus rewards on fitness classes, extra points on Walgreens purchases, and more. Many of these options are specific to your location, so you can be rewarded for shopping, dining, and exploring you’re already doing locally.

Why you need the Bilt app

The Bilt app is your personalized guide to maximizing new and rewarding opportunities in your daily life. It helps you make the most of your spending, whether that's from paying rent, grabbing dinner, requesting a ride, working out, searching for award travel options through Points Path, or running errands at the drugstore.

Not only does the app help you find new local businesses with special offers, but it also delivers timely reminders of benefits near you and some great partner integrations to help you avoid leaving rewards on the table.

Here’s how to unlock all these perks at the swipe of your finger.

Maximizing Neighborhood Benefits with the app

The app makes it easy to integrate Neighborhood Benefits into your life with minimal effort. Here’s how an evening of fun could look with the Bilt app on my phone — you can either use the Bilt Neighborhood Concierge to do all of this for you with a single request, or you can go tab-by-tab as your evening progresses.

Let’s say I want to book a workout, then make reservations for dinner with a friend. First, I tap on the “fitness” button in the Bilt app to find all of my nearby options. Once I select the studio of my choice, the background map automatically zooms in to that neighborhood location while displaying all of the class options for my chosen date.

After choosing the session I want to book, I have the option of checking out with my credit card or redeeming Bilt Points. I’d earn 175 points for the $35 class, and points are worth far more for travel than fitness classes, so I’ll skip the option of paying with my points. I can also choose to redeem $40 of Bilt Cash to cover the cost of my class if I want.

After my workout plans are set, it’s time to plan ahead for our meal. I chose this yoga studio since it’s close to my friend’s house, so I ask the Concierge for restaurants that have availability for 2 within half a mile of me.

That’s how I find L’Oca D’Oro, a local Italian spot with delicious handmade pasta and house-pulled mozzarella, which earns 1x Bilt Points on top of whatever linked card I pay for the meal with. I end up spending $50 after taxes and tip, so I earn an additional 50 points from dining with a Bilt restaurant I found in the app.

The app links directly to OpenTable reservations, so I can quickly tap through to secure the seating time I want without having to pick up the phone to call anyone. After I’ve made our reservation, I park in the parking garage nearby. I’ve linked my vehicle license plate to my Bilt account, since Bilt Members earn extra rewards on Metropolis parking.

My friend and I have so much fun over dinner that we schedule our next hangout on the spot. We’re both fans of comedy, so we find an upcoming comedy show in Austin using the “Experiences” button in the Bilt app. Once again, I can choose between paying for our tickets with a credit card, or by redeeming Bilt Points for admission; I pay $40 and earn an additional 40 points through the app.

It doesn’t feel safe to drive under these conditions, so I call a $20 Lyft ride home through the Bilt app and come back for my car in the morning. I earn an additional 2x Bilt Points on Lyft rides since my accounts are linked, for an additional 40 points — and I’ll get updates directly through the Lyft app when my driver is on the way.

Everyday rewards can quickly add up

Simply by using Bilt throughout my evening out, I’ve earned several hundred points I wouldn’t otherwise have: 175 points from yoga, 50 points from dinner, 40 points from my comedy ticket, 10 points from parking, and 40 points from my Lyft ride home, for a grand total of 315 points, just by using the app.

This example is very specific, but it’s easily replicable by anyone using the Bilt app. It’s even more effective for people living in large cities because there are so many local options to choose from. Swap a yoga class for any of the 500+ fitness partners that Bilt works with.

The Bilt app can change your financial game if you care about spending your money in the neighborhoods where you live — or simply want to ensure you’re always finding great deals and maximizing your reward-earning potential.
