For those of you who are Bilt fans — whether it's because of the three new credit cards or simply the Bilt Neighborhood Benefits program — another exciting promotion is on the horizon.

Bilt partners with 25 top-tier travel programs, allowing you to transfer your points for many exciting travel opportunities. And on the first day of each month — known as "Rent Day" — Bilt often boosts transfer and redemption rates to select partners, giving you even more value for your points.

And this May's Rent Day promotion is a good one. Bilt members can get up to a 100% bonus when transferring their points to British Airways, Iberia, and Aer Lingus.

I've been a Bilt fan for the past few years. It's become one of my go-to travel programs — especially due to the strong partnerships and redemption value. And with the Bilt Neighborhood Benefits program, you can earn points whenever you shop at partner merchants with any credit or debit card linked to your Bilt account — you don't even need a Bilt credit card.

Earning points with Bilt

If you aren't signed up for the Bilt program yet, joining is free, and it takes just a few minutes to enroll and link your cards to your account. To sign up, all you need to do is go to Bilt's website and click the "Sign up" button.

Once you’re signed up, earning points couldn’t be easier. Just link any card you regularly use to your Bilt Wallet, and you'll automatically start earning when you shop at any eligible merchant.

Once your credit and debit cards are linked to Bilt, you'll earn bonus points every month when you shop at eligible merchants without having to even think about it. This includes local restaurants, Walgreens, Lyft, and participating workout studios and classes.

Earning with Walgreens

One of my favorite ways to earn Bilt points is through Walgreens. Thanks to Bilt’s partnership, you’ll earn 2 points for every dollar you spend on Walgreens-branded products, and 1x on everything else in the store — as long as you pay with a card linked to your account, or use a phone number tied to your Bilt account at checkout. That's on top of any rewards you earn from your credit card.

Earning by dining out

Bilt Dining is another great way to rack up bonus points, with over 20,000 partner restaurants across the country. Depending on the restaurant, Bilt members can earn 2 or 3 extra points for every dollar you spend when dining out. Just make sure to pay with a linked credit or debit card.

Use your Bluetooth headphones with any airplane seatback screen

While some airlines like Delta and United are beginning to introduce Bluetooth-enabled inflight entertainment systems, widespread adoption is still years away. That means it's nearly impossible to use your own headphones or earbuds with your plane’s seatback screen. Or is it? We’ve found a simple and affordable gadget that plugs into a standard airplane headphone jack and pairs your wireless headphones effortlessly. Whether you're on a long-haul flight or just a short domestic hop, this device ensures a seamless, wire-free audio experience.

How Rent Day boosts your Bilt redemptions

Bilt Rewards offers multiple ways to redeem your points. But you'll usually get the best value by transferring them to Bilt's airline and hotel partners and using them for travel.

With 19 airlines and 6 hotel transfer partners, there's a slew of options when it comes to redeeming your points, including popular programs like United, Alaska Airlines, Southwest, Air France/KLM, British Airways, Japan Airlines, Marriott, Hyatt and Wyndham Rewards

That means your points can go a long way, especially since most of Bilt's partners transfer at a 1-to-1 ratio, meaning 1 Bilt point transfers to 1 point in the corresponding airline or hotel program.

Rent Day transfer bonus

On the first of every month, Bilt rewards its members with a special Rent Day perk.

With this upcoming promotion, you can earn bonus rewards on all transfers made to British Airways, Iberia, and Aer Lingus on May 1st. The bonus offer depends on your status within the Bilt Rewards program:

  • Blue member: 40% bonus
  • Silver member: 50% bonus
  • Gold member: 60% bonus
  • Platinum member: 75% bonus

Bilt is also sweetening the deal by giving its members the opportunity to "buy up" to a higher status by using their Bilt Cash. Bilt members can use $150 of Bilt Cash to unlock the next tier status. This means regular Blue members can earn the same transfer bonus as Silver members, Silver bumps up to Gold, Gold matches Platinum, and Platinum can upgrade to a 100% bonus.

If you have extra Bilt Cash lying around, this is a great way to earn even more points toward your next flight. Just note that with this particular Rent Day promotion, you're capped at transferring a maximum of 100,000 Bilt Points.

Redeeming your Avios points

Avios, the shared loyalty currency used by British Airways, Iberia, and Aer Lingus, offer some great redemption options for those looking to travel the world. And since the points can be pooled among all three airlines, you can transfer to one airline during this promotion and later decide you want to use them for one of the other two.

Each airline has its own award chart and rules, giving you even more flexibility when it comes to using your points — and allowing you to get the best deal.

This past summer, I was able to redeem just 25,000 Avios last-minute for a one-way flight from London to Boston with British Airways. With the current transfer bonus promotion, if you're a Bilt Platinum member and upgrade to the 100% transfer offer, that same flight would have cost just 12,500 points.

Just note that British Airways tacks on some hefty fees for flights through London specifically, so you'll want to consider the extra cash in addition to the Avios you're redeeming. But, for my flight a few months back, the taxes and fees were just $100 total, which wasn't bad at all.

All three airlines are also part of the Oneworld Alliance, allowing you to use your points to book a flight on partner airlines, such as American. Short-haul economy redemptions on American can often be booked for fewer Avios than the equivalent AAdvantage award price — and with the 100% transfer bonus, you're effectively cutting that cost in half again.

Iberia is also a strong option for transatlantic redemptions, especially for flights between the U.S. East Coast and Madrid. Iberia uses dynamic pricing, but off-peak economy awards can often be found starting around 17,000 Avios one-way — meaning a Bilt Platinum member with the 100% transfer bonus could book that same flight for roughly 8,500 Bilt Points. Iberia also tends to pass through lower fuel surcharges than British Airways on transatlantic routes.

A couple of important things to know:

  • Avios expire if you don't have any account activity for 36 consecutive months.
  • That said, it's easy to keep Avios from expiring. Any qualifying transaction, including a purchase made through the BA shopping portal, resets the 36-month clock.
  • Unlike with most U.S.-based airlines, you'll be charged redeposit fees if you need to cancel your flight.

If you decide to take advantage of this promotion, know that it's only valid on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 12:00am ET through 11:59pm PT. If you don't already have a British Airways, Iberia, or Aer Lingus account, we suggest creating one now and linking it to your Bilt account, and not waiting until the last minute.

Why Bilt is a smart addition to your points strategy

There's no reason not to join Bilt Neighborhood Benefits, especially since it's free. With an easy-to-use program and valuable rewards, plus nearly two dozen loyalty partners and generous transfer bonus opportunities, Bilt gives you plenty of ways to turn your points into unforgettable travel experiences.

Personally, I earn Bilt Points every month without lifting a finger, just by keeping my credit cards linked to the program. Then, when the right travel opportunity comes along, I transfer those points to one of Bilt’s many partners for serious value.

And even though I haven't pulled the trigger on a Rent Day offer in quite some time, this is actually one that I'm going to take full advantage of. I'm traveling to Europe this summer again with my family for an extended vacation and I'm looking to redeem Avios for flights from London to Venice. While I was already prepared to transfer my Bilt Points over to British Airways, this promotion is going to make my trip significantly less expensive (in points).

While I wouldn't transfer points over speculatively, if you have a specific plan in place, it's a great opportunity.
