If you're like me, you earn most of your points and miles with credit cards. But maximizing your credit card perks can be a time-consuming and overwhelming process.

Between card offers, statement credits, and various bonus categories, it's easy to miss out on valuable benefits — especially if you're juggling multiple cards.

However, there's a solution: CardPointers. This app and browser extension simplifies the process of managing your cards and ensuring you're earning as many points as possible.

I recently took CardPointers for a spin to test it out, and came away incredibly impressed by how useful it is. Here’s a look at all of its top features, and how to make the most of them.

What is CardPointers?

CardPointers is an easy-to-use tool designed to help you stay organized and earn the most from your credit card rewards.

With just a few minutes of setup, CardPointers can help:

  • Recommend which credit card to use every time you make a purchase
  • Track bonus categories and statement credits
  • Automatically apply money-saving offers from Chase, Amex, Citi, and more
  • Identify new credit card bonus offers, and track your minimum spend requirements when you get a new card

Getting started

To take full advantage of everything CardPointers has to offer, you'll want to download both the mobile app and install the browser extension.

Once installed, you'll need to sign up for a CardPointers account and use the same login information across any platform you have it on.

You'll then want to add all of your credit cards — including your approval dates — to build your personalized dashboard. This lets you see a single, streamlined view of all your benefits.

Saving offers to your account

Many banks now offer money-saving programs that provide discounts or cash back at participating merchants. Programs like Amex Offers and Chase Offers have grown in popularity, but the downside is that each deal must be manually activated before you can use it.

This is one of the highlights of CardPointers — its auto-add feature. No more logging into each bank's website or app to manually activate these money-saving deals. Instead, CardPointers can do it for you, making the entire process effortless.

The auto-add feature works for Amex, Chase, Bank of America, and Citi offers. When I tried it after creating my CardPointers account, it took only an extra minute or two to sync all of my offers to my account.

With Amex Offers, CardPointers automatically adds every available offer to all your eligible credit cards. That’s a big step up from the manual process, where you can only add an offer to one card. This time-saving feature gives you more flexibility and convenience when it’s time to shop.

Using the CardPointers app

After all of your credit cards are entered, the CardPointers app dashboard lets you manually keep track of all your benefits, highlighting which perks are still available each year. The app ultimately does all the work for each, even tracking if a benefit resets at the end of your cardmember or calendar year.

For example, you can track perks such as the yearly $300 travel credit on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, or the monthly $7 Dunkin' credit on the American Express Gold Card.

The CardPointers app also helps you maximize your bonus categories within the "Pointers" tab, showing the points multipliers for each purchase type. This ensures you're using the most rewarding credit card for each place you shop, helping you determine, for example, which card to use at a department store versus a drug store.

There’s even a map feature that shows the exact rewards multiplier at nearby merchants. Plus, I love this handy perk: you can snap a photo of a storefront, and the CardPointers app will instantly tell you which credit card earns the most rewards there.

Is CardPointers worth it?

I downloaded CardPointers just a few months ago, and I think it's truly a game changer. While the auto-add feature is by far my favorite part of the platform, its tracking capabilities are incredibly valuable as well.

I even found some perks I'd forgotten about — like the Resy dining credit on the Amex Gold card (whoops!). Fortunately, CardPointers reminded me just in time to take advantage of it.

Although the app requires some work to set up and keep track of your benefits, you'll never let a perk go unused again. Just having a list of all your card perks in one place without having to sift through the respective bank websites is a huge win.

If you're someone who wants a tool that unlocks the full value of your credit cards, CardPointers is a must-have. The free version does a lot all by itself, but to unlock all of the top features, you'll need upgrade to CardPointers+, the paid version.

CardPointers+ is normally $72 per year, which can easily be worth it given how much it'll help you save in points and cash. But the folks at CardPointers have been kind enough to provide a special discount just for Points Path users.

If you sign up for CardPointers+ at cardpointers.com/pointspath, you'll save 30% off the normal price, dropping the cost down to just $50 a year. Or by using the same link, you can score a lifetime membership for only $168 and never get charged for CardPointers+ again.

For those with just one or two cards, CardPointers might be overkill (though I still love its auto-add feature). But if you're managing multiple credit cards, CardPointers is an incredibly useful tool to stay organized, maximize your cards, and save both time and money.
