One of my favorite credit cards for beginners currently has an amazing limited-time bonus offer that can get you up to $1,000 toward travel. But regardless of whether you're just dipping your toes in the points and miles world or a seasoned traveler, this is an offer worth considering.
Right now for a limited time, you can earn up to 75,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 within the first three months after you open this card. Even better, you'll also get a travel credit to use during your first year with the card.
For those looking for easy redemptions, this offer is worth as much as $1,000 toward travel. But by transferring the miles from the card to a partner loyalty program, you can get even more value for them.
Earning miles couldn't be easier with this card. There's no need to worry about a million different category bonuses — you'll earn 2 miles for every dollar you spend on every purchase you make.
The no-fuss approach of this card makes it one of my favorites. Since the miles you're earning are worth at least 1 cent apiece, you're effectively getting 2% in rewards every time you swipe your card.
Not only is it easy to earn miles with this card, you'll also have no problem redeeming them. There are two ways to do it — an easy way, and a somewhat more challenging option that I prefer because it can get you even more value for them.
The simplest option is to redeem your miles for a statement credit on travel purchases. As long as the purchase categorizes as "travel" on your statement, you can use your miles to cover it within 90 days after making the transaction.
When you redeem your miles that way, they're worth a penny a mile. That means 75,000 miles are worth $750 towards travel.
It takes just seconds to use your miles this way and literally wipe away the travel charges on your credit card statement. And even if you don't have enough miles to erase the entire cost of a purchase, you can redeem whatever miles you have and get a partial credit covering some of the cost.
But if you're willing to put in the time and effort, you can get even more value by transferring your miles to over a dozen of the bank's airline and hotel partner loyalty programs.
The miles from this card transfer to most of its partners at a 1-to-1 ratio. That means every 1,000 miles you transfer will become 1,000 points or miles in the partner program.
This is the way I usually use my miles to travel in first or business class or stay at a top-notch resort. You'll need to find award space when you redeem your miles this way, but the payoff can be well worth the effort.
There's a good reason I consider this card to be one of the best for beginners. If you're looking for an easy-to-use option that doesn't take a lot of time or effort, it's a terrific choice. And with a chance to earn at least $1,000 towards travel, it's a perfect time to apply.
But this offer won't last much longer, so make sure you grab it while you can, and start earning more miles on every purchase you make.
