If you're looking to stay at a Hilton property for your next vacation, you're in luck. American Express just increased the welcome offers on its four Hilton credit cards. With these offers, you can earn up to 175,000 bonus points — depending on the card — through January 8, 2025.
Not only will these cards earn points to redeem toward your next stay, they also provide some amazing money-saving benefits. So let's take a look at the four different cards and the perks you'll get with each.
All information about the Hilton Honors Aspire Card from American Express has been collected independently by Points Path.
The Hilton Amex is Hilton's no-annual-fee card (see rates and fees). It comes with complimentary Hilton Honors Silver status simply by being a cardholder. While Silver status doesn't offer too many benefits, the real perk is that when it comes to redeeming points, all Hilton Honors members with status (even those with Silver status) get the 5th night free. That can mean a ton of savings on points redemptions, especially if you often stay at Hilton hotels for five or more nights.
With this card, you'll also earn 7 points for every dollar you spend at Hilton hotels, 5x points at U.S. restaurants, at U.S. supermarkets and at U.S. gas stations, and 3x points on all other eligible purchases.
The Hilton Amex Surpass is one of the best mid-tier travel credit cards. It has a $150 annual fee (see rates and fees), but comes with automatic Gold status. When staying at a Hilton property, being a Gold elite member means room upgrades (when available) as well as a daily food and beverage credit or continental breakfast, depending on the brand and region.
Plus, if you spend $40,000 on eligible purchases on your card in a calendar year, you'll earn Hilton's top-tier Diamond status.
This card also earns 12 points for every dollar you spend at Hilton hotels, 6x points at U.S. restaurants, at U.S. supermarkets and at U.S. gas stations, 4x points on U.S. online retail purchases, and 3x points on all other eligible purchases.
Offering the biggest welcome bonus and the most perks, this is an ideal card for those who stay at Hilton properties often.
The card does carry a high annual fee of $550 per year. But this is the only card that offers complimentary Diamond status, which includes executive lounge access and space-available suite upgrades, as well as all the perks offered with Gold status.
Aspire cardmembers also receive a free night reward on each account anniversary, plus the opportunity to earn additional free nights each year — once after spending $30,000 and another after $60,000 on the card in a calendar year.
To help offset the annual fee, the card also comes with up to $400 in statement credits on purchases made at participating Hilton Resorts — up to $200 semi-annually. You'll also get up to $200 back in statement credits per year — up to $50 per quarter — on flight purchases made directly with an airline or through amextravel.com.
If you're a business owner, this is a great time to snag the Hilton Amex Business. Offering up to $60 in statement credits per quarter for purchases made at Hilton properties, this perk alone helps offsets the card's $195 annual fee (see rates and fees).
Additionally, you'll receive complimentary Hilton Gold status and National Emerald Club car rental status with the Hilton Business card. You'll also earn 12 points for every dollar you spend on eligible Hilton purchases and 5x points on all other eligible purchases (up to $100,000 per calendar year, then 3x points thereafter).
If you stay at Hilton properties throughout the year, then having one of these four Hilton credit cards in your wallet is a great option — especially with the current higher welcome offers. And since all of the cards offer Hilton Honors status, you'll automatically receive your 5th night free on points redemptions.
For those that don't need luxurious benefits and want to steer away from an annual fee, the Hilton Amex card is the perfect option. But, if you're looking for slightly more, you'll find that the Hilton Amex Surpass gives you just that, and paying the annual fee could be well worth it.
On the other hand, if you like staying at higher-end Hilton properties, the Hilton Amex Aspire is a great option thanks to its annual free night certificate and Diamond status. And business owners can opt for the Hilton Amex Business card, where the statement credits can ultimately pay for the annual fee, as long as you travel just a few times a year.
So before you step foot into your next Hilton property, make sure to check out these Hilton credit cards, and don't miss out on these increased welcome offers!
