I recently spent some time at a newer hotel within the World of Hyatt portfolio of all-inclusive properties, the Impression Moxché by Secrets in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. This adults-only all-inclusive property is part of the highly popular Secrets brand, with the on-site Impression tower being a VIP "hotel within a hotel" of sorts.
It was fabulous. Keep reading for all the details, including how to book with points and tips to find availability for this sought-after property.
Impression Moxché by Secrets guests can use all the amenities, restaurants, and pools at the regular Secrets resort, but they can also use the exclusive eateries, pools, and spaces found in and around the Impressions tower, which are considerably more luxurious.
Ultimately, this is why a stay at the Secrets Moxché Playa del Carmen starts at about $650 to $750 per night with double occupancy, whereas rooms start at around $1,100 per night for the Impression Moxché by Secrets.
My husband and I did spend some time in the regular Secrets resort, which features 11 restaurants of its own, numerous bars and some of the best resort pools I have ever visited (including a huge lagoon pool that feels like the ocean).
However, we spent most days relaxing at the Impression building's main pool and rooftop pool, both of which feature incredible service and upscale food and dining.
What are the best parts about Impression Moxché compared to staying at the regular Secrets resort? First, there are multiple infinity pools you can use at the Impression Moxché, and with much lower occupancy that means you never have to worry about finding a seat with shade.
Second, the food and drink is truly elevated here. Impression's restaurants serve steaks, seafood (including lobster), fresh fish, and high-end liquors and beers. You can still dine at any of the regular Secrets restaurants, but it's nice to have a separate selection of Impressions eateries that are never busy.
If you stay at least five nights in the Impression tower, you can even dine for free at Teodoro, the resort's fine-dining restaurant. Teodoro has been honored with the prestigious AAA Five Diamond Award, and it serves a unique seven-course tasting menu that normally costs $150 per person or $250 per person for dinner with international wine pairings.
If you're looking to splurge on an over-the-top award stay, you can book the Impression Moxché by Secrets with World of Hyatt points.
These points are easy to earn through paid hotel stays with the brand, spending on World of Hyatt credit cards or point transfers from a Chase Ultimate Rewards account. Note that Chase points transfer to World of Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio.
The Impression Moxché by Secrets will normally set you back 58,000 World of Hyatt points per night, which is a decent value considering the cash price of the hotel. After all, spending 58,000 Hyatt points for a $1,142 hotel stay gets you just under 2 cents per point in value.
Still, finding availability for this property can be tricky. The following tips can help:
Also make sure to use the Points Calendar function when you search for availability, which is found on the booking page when you search through Hyatt.com.

This search function lets you search individual months for award availability. You can also use it to find lower award rates for this hotel, which can be as low as 42,000 points per night — usually for last-minute bookings.
