If you're looking for a new credit card — especially one that will greatly increase your point balance — than the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card is a terrific option. With an increased welcome offer, you can be well on your way to earning 120,000 bonus points, allowing you to jump start your next vacation in no time.

Right now, new card holders can earn 120,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending $8,000 on the card within the first three months of opening the account.

With Chase points worth a minimum of 1.25 cents apiece, this offer is worth at least $1,500 toward travel. But since Chase points can also be transferred to airline and hotel partner loyalty programs, you could get even more value for that bonus.

Intrigued? Let's take a look at some of our other favorite reasons to apply for the Ink Business Preferred card.

1. Increased 120,000-point welcome offer

This isn't just the highest offer we've ever seen on the Ink Business Preferred. It's one of the better offers you'll find amongst all travel credit cards, which makes it a perfect time to snag a boatload of points.

As a Chase Ultimate Rewards credit card, the points earned from this card can be used three different ways.

First, you can cash out the 120,000 points for cash. While this definitely isn't the best way to use them, if you're strapped for cash, it's an option. When cashing out for cash, these points are worth a penny apiece, which means you can redeem the 120,000-point bonus for $1,200.

If you prefer to use your points for travel, you can book through Chase Travel℠ and redeem points for flights, hotels, car rentals, and even activities. It's extremely easy and doesn't require a ton of effort. When you redeem this way, your points are worth a fixed 1.25 cents apiece, so the 120,000-point bonus is worth $1,500.

But the best option can often be to transfer your points to one of Chase Ultimate Rewards' 14 travel partners. Your value will vary depending on which airline or hotel you transfer to, but you can easily get 2 cents apiece or more (and Points Path can help you find the best redemptions). At that rate, those 120,000 points can be worth $2,400 or more!

2. Transfer points to 14 loyalty partners

Use your points to stay right on the beach at the Hyatt Clearwater Resort and Spa

One of the best ways to redeem your Ink Business Preferred points is to transfer them to a partner airline or hotel program. Your points can typically go much further than booking directly through Chase, and it's often the best way to fly business class across the globe and stay in some amazing properties.

Chase Ultimate Rewards points can be transferred to three hotel partners:

  • Hyatt
  • Marriott
  • IHG

And when it comes to airlines, there are 11 partners:

  • Aer Lingus
  • British Airways
  • Emirates
  • Air France/KLM
  • Iberia
  • JetBlue
  • Singapore Airlines
  • Southwest Airlines
  • United
  • Virgin Atlantic

But remember, not all programs are created equal. Your points are more likely to get you additional nights at a Hyatt property over an IHG property, for example. Same goes for British Airways over Southwest.

In fact, Hyatt is one of our favorite Chase transfer partners. For instance, you can stay at the Andaz Papagayo in Costa Rica (a Hyatt property) for only 25,000 Hyatt points per night during a standard date. Cash rates at this property can easily be over $700 a night, meaning each Chase point transferred would be worth close to 3 cents apiece!

When it comes to partners, knowing the ins and outs of the program will help you get the best value. For instance, you can transfer your points to British Airways, and then use the points within their program to fly domestically on American Airlines, or internationally on Japan Airways, since they're all members of the same airline alliance.

3. Cell phone insurance

As long as you pay your monthly cell phone bill with your Ink Business Preferred, you'll get baked-in cell phone insurance.

This means if your phone is damaged or stolen, you'll be reimbursed for the cost of replacing the phone or getting it fixed — no extra coverage needed. Additionally, everyone on your cell phone bill is covered as well.

You're allowed to file a claim three times per rolling 12 months and will be reimbursed up to $1,000 each time, minus a $100 deductible.

Sadly, I've needed to personally take advantage of this benefit many times, and the process has always been incredibly easy.

4. Earn 3x points on travel

The Ink Business Preferred earns a whopping 3 points for every dollar you spend on all travel purchases (up to $150,000 spent on travel and select business categories each account anniversary year, then 1x points).

For those that travel often, this is an easy way to rack up Chase Ultimate Rewards points. And while this is the earning rate as the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, the annual fee on the Ink Business Preferred is significantly less.

5. Travel protection

With the Ink Business Preferred card, you'll receive automatic travel protections, covering situations such as trip delays, trip cancellations and interruptions, baggage delays, lost/damaged bags and travel accidents.

So if you pay for your flight with your Ink Business Preferred and land at your destination to find your checked bag didn't make it with you, your credit card has you covered. For bags delayed for more than 6 hours, you'll be reimbursed for essentials such as toiletries, clothing, and more. You're covered up to $100 per person, per day for up to five days.

Or if your flight home is delayed and you have to sleep at a hotel for an extra night, Chase will cover any unexpected costs for trips delayed 12 or more hours. If you're required to stay overnight, you can be reimbursed for up to $500 in reasonable expenses, per person. This can cover necessities such as a hotel, taxi, meals, clothes, and so on.

I've personally utilized both of these benefits before, and the process was seamless.

Should you get the Ink Business Preferred?

With an incredibly low annual fee of just $95 per year, the Ink Business Preferred is a top notch travel credit card. The added benefits make this card extremely worthwhile, and now is one of the best times to apply thanks to its increased welcome offer.
