Prime Big Deal Days 2026: Get ready for Amazon’s fall Prime Day event

Amazon is bringing back Prime Big Deal Days on October 6th and 7th, giving Prime members another opportunity to score deals on everything from travel gear and electronics to everyday essentials before the holiday shopping season kicks into gear.

Similar to previous years, not every item will see a deep price cut, but it’s still a great opportunity to save on travel essentials you’ve had your eye on.

If you’re hoping to hold out for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, know that last year we noticed that some items were even less expensive during Prime Big Deal Days compared to November (of course this didn’t hold true for all items).

Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s Prime Big Deal Days, including tips for finding the lowest prices, ways to stack your savings, and a look at early deals you can shop now. And if you’re not already an Amazon Prime member — which is necessary to snag some deals — you can sign up for a free 30-day trial and get access to all the deals during this two-day event.

Even though Prime Big Deal Days isn’t happening until next week, Amazon has already launched some early deals, especially on its own Amazon devices, and new discounts are appearing daily. Some of our favorite travel products are also already on sale.

In addition to discounted pricing, there are a few ways to save even more during Prime Big Deal Days simply by using the right credit card.

Many credit card rewards programs offer special savings at Amazon when you apply just a single point to your purchase.

While we usually recommend saving your points for better-value travel redemptions, it’s worth using a point (or a few, if required) to pay at Amazon when these deals come around just to reap the savings.

These offers are typically targeted, and sadly, don’t seem to be readily available right now. But there’s a chance that they pop up over the next few days, allowing you to save money at Amazon for any Prime Big Deal Days, if you’re eligible.

Typically, the main offer these days are with an American Express card that earns Membership Rewards points. Many times, these offers require you to redeem a Membership Reward point (or points) to save a set amount off your purchase.

Having an Amazon credit card can also save you money. The Prime Visa gets you 5% back on Amazon.com purchases with an eligible Prime membership, and it’s currently offering a $150 Amazon gift card as a sign-up bonus to new applicants.

You’ll be able to use the card through your Amazon account immediately after getting approved, so you don’t have to worry about it arriving in time for next week's sale event.

American Express has a program called Amex Offers, which is a valuable way to save money or earn extra points by activating targeted deals directly from your Amex account.

Just log into the Amex website or mobile app, add an offer to your card, meet the spending requirement for it, and you’ll receive either a statement credit or Membership Rewards points, depending on the promotion.

Currently, there’s not a widespread offer, so you’ll want to check your Membership Rewards earning cards “Offers” tab daily to see if a new offer appears.

While pricing is typically competitive during Prime Big Deal Days, you might find that a product isn’t actually being sold at the lowest price of the year.

To check the price history of a product, I use the website CamelCamelCamel. Just plug in a product name or Amazon URL, and you’ll see the pricing for it over the past year, including the lowest ever price, the current price, and the average price.

Throughout the two-day sale, Amazon will also roll out thousands of Lightning Deals, which are limited-time offers that are available for only a few hours or until inventory sells out.

These flash sales can be one of the best ways to score deep discounts on travel essentials like luggage, packing cubes, portable chargers, travel adapters, headphones, and more. Since new Lightning Deals launch throughout the day and the best ones often sell out quickly, it’s worth checking Amazon’s Lightning Deals page regularly during Prime Big Deal Days to catch the biggest savings before they’re gone.

With Prime Big Deal Days less than a week away, I'm keeping an eye on a handful of travel items. Even though I’ve had a few travel product splurges already in 2026, I’m looking to upgrade my travel headphones and possibly some of the beauty products I bring with me on the go.
