Apple deals are already live ahead of Prime Big Deal Days

Although Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days event doesn’t officially kick off until tomorrow, we’re already seeing some great early deals on some Apple products at Amazon. From Apple AirPods to the latest iPad, the current deals include big discounts on some of Apple's most travel-friendly devices.

Spoiler alert: The Apple AirPods Pro 3 and Apple Watch SE 3 GPS 40mm Smartwatch are at the lowest prices we've seen to date. Note that availability (and prices) can change over the next 72 hours, but this reflects what we saw this morning.

Here are all the details on discounts we're seeing for Apple products at Amazon.

If new wireless earbuds are on your travel wish list, now’s a great time to grab a pair.

First, the Apple AirPods Pro 3 are available for just $179 — the lowest price yet. While these AirPods have been on sale in the past, this is still a $10 to $20 discount from the more common sale price.

The Apple AirPods Pro 3 are the most recently released earbuds in the Apple suite, with stronger noise cancellation, longer battery life, integrated heart rate sensing, and a smaller design with foam-infused tips for better sealing. They're a game-changer for travel, allowing you to enjoy peace and quiet on your next flight, or in a busy airport or subway.

For those who prefer over-the-ear headphones instead of earbuds, Apple AirPods Max Wireless headphones are also being sold at just $429 — about $120 off the regular price. Availability is in and out, and as of right now just the blue color is on sale. So if you don't see the sale price, or you’d prefer a different color, keep checking throughout the next few days.

The AirPods Max Wireless headphones offer a customizable fit for all-day comfort, and feature Active Noise Cancellation with up to 20 hours of listening time.

Both the Apple AirPods Pro 3 and AirPods Max Wireless pair instantly with Apple devices and are a favorite among frequent travelers, especially for long-haul flights. And if you want to use them with an airplane’s seatback screen, the AirFly Pro 2 is a simple Bluetooth adapter that lets you connect any wireless headphones to your plane’s inflight system. Note: The AirFly Pro 2 isn’t currently on sale, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a nice discount starting tomorrow.

And right now, the more affordable Apple Watch SE 3 is on sale at $50 off, and comes in two versions: GPS and GPS + Cellular.

The Apple Watch SE 3 GPS 40mm is just $199 and features a 40mm aluminum case, Apple's S10 chip, 64GB of storage and built-in GPS. It tracks workouts, heart rate, sleep and other activity. It's water-resistant to 50 meters and has up to 18 hours of battery life with normal use. The GPS version works best for people who typically keep their iPhone nearby, since many connected features rely on the phone. There’s also a 44mm version for those who want a slightly larger case size.

The Apple Watch SE 3 GPS + Cellular 40mm offers the same basic design, display, processor, storage, fitness tracking and safety features as the GPS model, but adds cellular connectivity. With a compatible cellular plan, you can make calls, send messages, receive notifications and stream music or podcasts even when your iPhone isn't nearby. That can be particularly handy when traveling, exercising or spending time outdoors and you don't want to carry your phone. The 40mm version is currently pricing out at just $249, or if you prefer a larger case size, you can still grab the watch on sale for $279.

The Apple iPads are marked on sale, but don’t seem to be part of the pre-Prime Day sale just yet. So there’s a chance that they’ll be marked even lower come tomorrow. If you’re in the market for an iPad, we suggest adding it to your cart now, and then you can see if there’s a price decrease once Prime Day hits.

This includes the 11th-generation iPad A16, with two recommended options: the 128GB selling for $399 and the 256GB for $499. Both are offering a $50 discount on each, and less than what you'd pay if you bought them directly from Apple.

This latest iPad is a great pick for travel, with an 11-inch Liquid Retina display featuring True Tone, 12MP front and rear cameras, and up to 10 hours of battery life. The iPad A16 comes in four color options — although there’s a chance that not every color option might be available during Prime Day (based on what we’ve seen in the past).

We fully expect Amazon to roll out even more deals on many of our favorite travel products starting tomorrow, and through the entire Prime Big Deal Days event from October 6th through 7th. Many credit card rewards programs offer special savings at Amazon when you apply just a single point to your purchase.

While we usually recommend saving your points for better-value travel redemptions, it's worth using a point (or a few, if required) to pay at Amazon when these deals come around just to reap the savings.

These offers are typically targeted, but there’s a brand new one from American Express that could save you money if you're eligible.

Currently, folks with an American Express card that earns Membership Rewards points can save as much as 40% off their Amazon purchases, up to a maximum of $35 off.
